moimoy and Luma
Luma and moimoy both collect RSVPs. They are aimed at different sizes of event. This page is a factual comparison, not a claim that one replaces the other for every host.
What Luma publishes
Luma's help docs describe a calendar page for many events, newsletters to people who follow that calendar, and tickets that can be free or paid through Stripe. The public pricing page lists a free plan and a paid Plus plan, and a platform fee on paid tickets for the free plan.
What moimoy publishes
One host link and a page per gathering. You set the spots, the public place, and whether people RSVP freely or wait for your yes. Guests get a reminder. You check them in. This version does not sell tickets or send a newsletter.
Which one fits
A conference, a ticketed night, or a calendar you mail to a large list is the kind of job Luma describes. A 12-person gathering in a public park, posted from a bio, is the kind of job moimoy is built for. It is free to try.
Questions
Is moimoy a Luma alternative?
For a single small local gathering, yes. For paid tickets, newsletters, or a calendar of many events, Luma is built for that and moimoy is not.
Can I charge for a spot on moimoy?
No. This version does not take payment. Deposits are not in this version.
Does moimoy host a public calendar of every event in a city?
No. Each host has their own link. There is no city-wide calendar.
